MaltaIndependent 14/11/2013: Economy Minister Chris Cardona today said that Maltese businesses need
to step up their game in order to better integrate into the digital
economy.
“Every business must go digital or die. The digital economy is vital
for Malta. Our vision is for a robust and modern digital economy, which
will be one of the best in Europe,” Dr Cardona said during a conference
titled “Foreign direct investment in the southern Mediterranean region.”
Dr Cardona also emphasised the need to look towards North Africa for further growth potential.
“The economic emergence of Africa is a reality. 11% of Maltese exports
go to North Africa, but they are low in value and across a limited range
of commodities. African economies need to better integrate with the
rest of the world,” Dr Cardona said. (source)
